Luffy-san!

Its about time i made an entry on our favorite cartoon as of the moment ‘One Piece’. Chad has been watching this on the computer and got me curious because he kept on laughing. We bought a copy of the first season, and i was hooked.

One Piece from Wikipedia
Its about Monkey D. Luffy’s journey to fulfill his dream to find the world’s greatest treasure ‘one piece’ and become the new Pirate King. Together with his pirate crew Rononoa Zoro (a swordsman), Nami (the navigator), Usopp (uhm.. all around man?), Sanji (the cook), TonyTony Chopper (the doctor) and the latest addition to the crew (as of the latest episode we are watching), Nico Robin (an archeologist).

Don’t be led to think that the storyline might be shallow… i thought so at first. Until i was sobbing like a kid while watching the story behind Nami.

Moral of the story? Doing all you can to achieve your dream, protecting your treasure (may it be a person, a thing, or a dream), and valuing your Nakama (bestfriend or family).

We are now on the 4th cd, 239th episode. According to Wikipedia, it already has a total of 358 episodes as of June 15, 2008.

Its the next best thing to do while typhoon ‘Frank’ was passing yesterday… watching dvd. The first being sleeping under the warm sheets with Max and Chad. :)

John & Yoko

my team finally had lunch to celebrate our bowling championship, and lunch was held at a Japanese restaurant, John and Yoko, located at Greenbelt 5. They say Marvin Agustin is one of the co-owners of this resto.

Ambiance is very nice. Doesn’t look like a Japanese resto. They have a wide range menu including or ramen, pizza, sushi, maki and even yakiniku (except they dont have the yakiniku tables), but surprisingly it was not very expensive. We even noticed that the waiters all had those hairdo that’s usually sported by japanese youngsters i.e. dyed and unusual haircut.

John&Yoko
Dynamite Roll (P168), Philadelphia Roll (P218), Bacon Enoki (P258), Salmon Sashimi (P189), Tempura Mania (P348), kikoman w/ wasabe sauce.

The rolls are ‘big’ bite size, both rolls i really like. the dynamite roll was spicy and the philadelphia roll chewey. I was happy to see the Bacon Enoki, but it was also in too big a chunk… sorry chef, the serving is just too big for me to chew. It was also my first time to try out Sukiyaki (P328), and theirs i liked. It was sweet and tasty.

I’d definitely come back (with chard ofcourse) and try out the rest of the menu.

p.s. I forgot to mention the drink that i ordered, ‘Flavored yakult’ for P108 pesos. I chose strawberry. now that’s trying something new.

my rating? 4 out of 5

after 4 months

i’ve been meaning to post Maxi’s latest pics but didn’t have enough time at the ofc.

here’s a few shots of Max after waking up the day he turned 4 months.

i have very few pics taken with max cuz i’m always the one taking the pictures.

Maxi loves taking a bath. once you place him in his tub, he gets giddy.

love you max!

my 8-5 life

I thought i should write something about what i do for a living since its a chunk of my time spent. i’ll try not to make it into a resume, but warning! boring stuff ahead aka hello head hunters!

For a bit of history, I’ve been working in the Life Insurance industry for more than 8 years now. Like most of my bs math batchmates, i tried my luck in the Actuarial career. After 2 years, the IT head offered me a position as junior business analyst.

away from my baby

for 3 days.
am leaving early tomorrow for Davao. i was one of the quarter finalists of my company’s employee recognition program. i was suppose to share this prize with Ella, but she’s already staying in Australia.

i’m feeling anxious. am bringing my breastfeeding gadgets i.e. 2 pumps, containers and a cooler. and daddy and max is going to stay with his family in Tondo while am away. I keep thinking about my milk since the airport has been strict about what you bring with you on the plane… as if i’ll be able to make a bomb with breastmilk…. but i really doubt they’ll let me carry my cooler with me. haay.

and this is the first time i’ll be travelling for leisure without chad. i could bring him with me but for the additional cost, we might as well go to hongkong.

so… its 6 pm now. i’m going to the clinic to pump milk, and then go home and pack.

3 months after

I feel great today, i should take a photo and compare it to a picture taken 3 months ago.

During my maternity leave, i’ve been planning all this stuff to do to prettify myself back to before i was pregnant. A lot of women get depresed during and after pregnancy because of the body changes. Although i didn’t feel depressed, i felt a bit insecure because of how i looked.

Today, i’m wearing my wedding ring… for the first time since i had to take it off because my fingers got stubby from the pregnancy. I weigh about 117 lbs now… my average weight 3 yrs ago. I had warts coterized before the lenten break and the scabs on my face have cleared up. I finally had my hair cut short and blowdried yesterday, with hot oil treatment (which i haven’t done for more than 15 months).

I feel and look good today… i received good morning greetings, compliments. One said he didn’t even recognize me. oh yeah, that feels great. =)

peaceful thursday

borrowed from pianoforte in flickr

I miss UP. Chad, me, Maxi and ate lily went there this morning and had breakfast take-out picnic at the grasses near the lagoon. We strolled around the campus with Maxi who slept the whole time in the stroller. I look forward to the day when we can come back to fly kites and ride our bikes with Maxi. sayang its holy week, at walang barbeque ngayon. we would have stayed till 4 pm. :)

One more week and Max will turn 3 months. he has tantrums, baby talks and giggles. his favorite rock music shuts him up in the middle of loud crying. he likes sitting up now.

i wanted him to stay with full breastmilk but on the 3rd day back to my work, we ran out of milk so i had to rush home. i begged the pedia to recommend a formula so that he can have something in case we ran out of milk. he would have had 3-4 oz of formula milk by the time i arrive back from work. its hard work, since i also pump 2-3 times at night. i get 3 hours straight sleep max. but i would do it as long as i could. love you max!
